  • A world-renowned cancer surgeon and researcher, Dr. Michael Zinner was named founding chief executive officer and executive medical director of Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute in October of 2015. Under his leadership, the Institute is recognized as the #1 cancer program in South Florida by U.S. News & World Report and in the top 10% in the nation for treating the most complex cancer cases. Miami Cancer Institute opened its doors in 2017 and serves as an anchor for cancer care from West Palm Beach to the Florida Keys. Development of our new Al and Jane Nahmad Women’s Cancer Center is currently underway.

  • Dr. Michael McDermott is a world-renowned expert in neuroscience, the Irma & Kalman Bass Endowed Chair in Clinical Neuroscience and chief medical executive at Baptist Health Miami Neuroscience Institute. Under his leadership, the Institute ranked among the top 10% in the country for treating complex neurology and neurosurgery patients and is recognized for clinical excellence in stroke care. Dr. McDermott has assembled a stellar team of neurosurgeons and built a robust research program focused on treatment and rehabilitation, neuro-oncology, spine care and movement disorders. The planned, state- of-the-art Kenneth C. Griffin Center will transform Miami Neuroscience Institute into a global hub for neuroscience.

  • Dr. Tom Nguyen is the Barry T. Katzen Medical Director Endowed Chair and chief medical executive at Baptist Health Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute. Dr. Nguyen leads research trials on treatments for valvular heart disease and has been the principal investigator on landmark trials exploring transcatheter aortic and mitral valve replacement. The Institute is the largest and most comprehensive cardiovascular care network in the area. It received High-Performing ratings from U.S. News & World Report for treating heart attacks and caring for those with heart failure.

  • Dr. John Uribe is a dual Board-certified orthopedic surgeon, José Milton Foundation Endowed Chair in Orthopedics and chief medical executive at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Baptist Health Orthopedic Institute is nationally ranked and provides world-class orthopedic care throughout South Florida and beyond. As an orthopedic surgeon and chair of the Department of Orthopedics at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine, Dr. Uribe extends the program’s educational involvement beyond the classroom and into the operating room to provide hands-on help to patients.
